- long snout: it’s the same length as the head's "brain case" or longer
- short snout: it’s half the length of the head's "brain case" or shorter
- big snout: it’s both long and wide
- small snout: it’s both short and narrow (but not flat)
- tapering snout: it’s thicker at the base and gradually narrows to a point/edge towards the end (wedge or cone shaped)
- blocky snout: it’s very angular and blunt (box shaped)
- rounded snout: it’s rounded or spherical (dome or ball shaped)
- contiguous snout: it’s blends smoothly into the forehead or lack any distinctive separation (depressed nasal stop (nasion in humans), crease/seam) between the snout and "brain case"
- there's no snout / is flat -> skip
