The pterodactyl -> pterodactylus alias has obliterated the species tag's viability, especially with the surge in Fang from GVH.
Remove pterodactylus from all posts that do not depict the actual species. The following GVH/Snoot Game characters are only pterosaurs:
The male pterosaurs are specifically excluded from this project for the time being due to their flatter crests and membranous wings:
If the character is described as a generic "pterodactyl", do not add a specific species tag.
Try to add specific species tags (pteranodon, quetzalcoatlus, etc.) if applicable.
A pteranodon has no teeth and an upward-projecting or 45° crest on its head.
A pterodactylus has a straight, small-toothed beak with either no crest or a soft tissue crest and a short tail.
A generic pterosaur is typically either a pteranodon or a nonspecific species with a hard and backward-pointing crest, a long tail or a straight/curved beak with large teeth.
